Magnetic Rod Sleeves

Magnetic rod sleeves are laboratory consumables made of polymer polypropylene (PP). And they can be used in experiments such as nucleic acid extraction, high-throughput screening, serial dilution and so on. Their uniform and flat surfaces are convenient for sealing. With the combination of magnetic rods and magnetic rod sleeves, operations like the mixing, washing and elution of samples can be achieved smoothly.
Magnetic rod sleeves have been specially treated on the surface to reduce the nonspecific adsorption of biomacromolecules, which significantly improves the output and purity of protein and nucleic acid separation. In general, the magnetic rod sleeve is installed on the rack which can drive the sleeve to move horizontally and vertically or vibrate, so as to realize operations like mixing, washing and elution.

During the actual operation, we can insert a magnetic rod into the magnetic rod sleeve to make the sleeve generate magnetism so that it is able to attract particles that can be magnetically attractive in the mixture to the surface of the magnetic rod sleeve. When the rod is pulled away, the sleeve loses magnetism, with those particles separating from the sleeve. Magnetic rod sleeves are capable of protecting rods from direct contact with the liquid and thus prolonging the service life of magnetic rods. In nucleic acid extraction, with the cooperative movement of the magnetic rod and sleeve, magnetic beads absorbing nucleic acid are moved to different reagent reservoirs. Then the liquid is stirred repeatedly and quickly by the magnetic rod sleeve to fully mix the reaction system, and finally, the pure nucleic acid can be obtained through sample pyrolysis, nucleic acid absorption, cleaning and elution.
